你是一名老师,你的一个学生成绩最近有些下滑,你跟她谈论这件事时说道:

I'm willing to help you out,but you've got to put forth a little more effort.

我愿意帮助你,但你得付出更多努力。

Part 2 Pronunciation and intonation

发音讲解

So,in the sentence, pay attention to the pro-nunciation of these parts.

在这一句中,注意以下部分的发音:

1.Pay attention to"willing"/ˈwiliŋ/,"i" is pro-nounced as/i/,don't make it sound like"wheeling"/ˈwiːliŋ/.

1.注意 “willing”/ˈwiliŋ/的发音,“i” 发/i/,不要发得像 “wheel-ing”/ˈwiːliŋ/。

2."Help you out" is blended, with a/w/sound before "out".

2.“help you out” 连 读,“out” 前有一个/w/的音。

3.The two "t"s in "got to" are merged, and we often just say "gotta"/ˈgɑːtə/.

3.“got to” 中两个 t 连读为“gotta”/ˈgɑːtə/。

4.The "t"s in "but" and "put forth" are not pronounced.

4.“but” 和 “put forth” 中的t不发音。

5.“little” 中的t发/t/的音而不是/d/。

5."Little" is pronounced with the/t/sound in-stead of/d/.

现在,我们重点看看语气和语调。

Now,let's focus on tone and intonation.

1.重读 “willing” “you've”“effort”。

1.These parts are stressed:"willing" "you've""effort".

2.逗号后停顿。

2.Always pauses after a comma.

3.Say it with some compassion because you really want your student to improve.

3.说这句话时语气中应当充满感情,因为你真诚地希望学生的学习能有所提高。

Now,practice, and you will learn to say this sentence like a native speaker.

现在,多加练习,你就能学会像英语母语者一样说这句话了。

Her class is super easy.As long as you put forth some effort, you'll be able to pass with no problem.

她的课非常简单。只要付出一点儿努力,你就能轻松通过。
